Fundraising

North Central’s competitive choirs run on a budget of over $250,000 annually. This money comes from fees, event tickets, and the generosity of our community of donors, sponsors and supporters. Each year NC Choirs provides over $40,000 in scholarship support to students in need of financial assistance for yearly fees or vocal lessons. Our “no questions asked” policy assures no student is turned away from a choir opportunity due to economics.

Our fundraising efforts are led by the North Central High School Choir Parents Organization. That group organizes fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and sales events to help fuel our scholarship fund and assist students offset their choir fees.

RaiseRight

Our ongoing fundraiser gives families a chance to help both individual students and the choir scholarship funds. Sign up and earn money by purchasing gift cards for leading retailers like Amazon, Starbucks, Target, and nearly 500 others. You can also earn by using the links on the RaiseRight site to shop online. Finally, earn money by dining at local restaurants like Sangiovese, Maple Breakfast & Lunch, Arni’s, Bugambilias, and many others.

Trivia Night

Our annual Trivia Night event started in 2024 and quickly became our biggest single-night fundraiser of the season. Held in October, the event brings together nearly 200 NC Choirs parents and supporters for a night of food, trivia, a silent auction, raffle, and time spent the NC Choirs community.

Volunteer events

The CPO organizes two student and parent volunteer opportunities to help students offset their yearly participation fees.

Indianapolis Motor Speedway Cleanup

Starting in 2025, a team of 40 volunteers has tackled post-Indy 500 cleanup in the Turn 1 grandstands on Memorial Day. Each participant earns a minimum of $100 applied to their or their student’s yearly fees (approx 5 hours of work).

State Fair Parking Volunteers

A North Central Choirs tradition, our students and parents assist the State Fair’s parking operations team by directing traffic, guiding cars into spaces, and selling tickets at the parking gates. Participants earn $10.50 per hour for a five hour shift. We try to send teams of volunteers out each weekend day of the Fair, offering students up to six opportunities to reduce their participation fees.

Holiday Donation Drive

Our annual Holiday Donation Drive provides students and their families a platform for requesting donations from family, friends, colleagues, or others that want to help offset participation fees and support NC Choirs.

FanAngel has provided the platform for our most recent donation drives.

Student Sales

The choir department participates in the yearly trash bag sale run across the entire Performing Arts Department while the CPO runs separate sales events to assist students with their yearly fees. Our yearly sales include:

Trash bag sales – August
Candle sales – October
Crew Carwash sales – January

Post-concert Treats and Dine To Donate Events

Stick around after most concerts at Birge Auditorium for treat sales that benefit the scholarship fund. Past vendors have included Milkshake Factory, Crave Cookies, and Just Pop In.
