Summer Camp Show (July)

Who: Counterpoints, Descants, Half Notes campers

Date & Time: Friday, July 31, 2026 – 7 PM

Admission: Free

Duration: approx. 45 minutes

What: The Summer Camp show kicks off the concert year with an early glimpse of Counterpoints and Descants, including the debut of one number from their competition set, along with a performance by our Half Notes campers.

Ambassadors Informances (September, February, May)

Who: Ambassadors

Dates: Wednesday, September 23, 2026; Friday, February 26, 2027; Friday, May 14, 2027 – 8:30 AM

Admission: Free

Duration: approx. 20 minutes

What: These in-school concerts share the music skills Ambassadors have learned in the quarter.  The Informances take place during the Ambassadors’ class hour starting at 8:30 AM and are part of the choir’s Fall Concert, Midwinter Concert, and Spring Concert series.

Fall Concert (September)

Who: All Choirs except Ambassadors

Date & Time: Thursday, September 24, 2026 – 7 PM

Admission: $5 Adult, $3 Student

Duration: approx. 1.5 hours

Description: Fall Concert features each choir singing 2-3 pieces learned in the first few months of school.  This is a great taste of what will be in store for the rest of the year.

Messiah Concert (December)

Who: Counterpoints, Descants, KC Jazz, and Varsity Singers plus the North Central Orchestra

Date & Time: Tuesday, December 1, 2026 – 7 PM

Admission: Free

Duration: approx 45 minutes

What: The annual Messiah Concert combines North Central’s choirs and symphony orchestra in a variety of choral-orchestral masterworks from many of the great classical composers, concluding with selections from Handel’s Messiah.  

More Joyful Sounds of the Season (December)

Who: All Choirs plus MSDWT Middle School choirs

Dates/Times: Friday, December 11, 2026 – 7 PM; Saturday, December 12, 2026 – 2 PM & 7 PM

Admission: $15 Adult, $10 Student

Duration: approx 1.5 hours

What: This concert will feature holiday-themed numbers from all NC Choirs along with special acts, ensembles, and combined numbers to celebrate the holiday season.  New for 2026 – three performances — one on Friday evening and a matinee and evening performance on Saturday. Each performance will feature one MSDWT middle school choir with Eastwood, Northview, and Westlane each taking a turn. Note that Ambassadors perform on the Friday night show and Encores & Allegros will be featured on the Saturday show.

Show Choir Preview Show (January)

Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, and Varsity Singers

Date & Time: Friday, January 22, 2026 – 7 PM

Admission: Free

Duration: approx. 1.5 hours

What: The Show Choir Preview offers the first public performance of the 2027 competition sets for Counterpoints and Descants along with previews of the work-in-progress sets by Accents and Varsity Singers. The event also includes our annual “Show Choir 101” primer for families new to show choir in between sets.

Midwinter Concert (February)

Who: Allegros, Encores, Northernaires, and Rondos

Date & Time: Friday, February 26, 2027. Each group performs during their class time.

Admission: Free

Duration: approx. 45 minutes 

What: Midwinter Concert features our non-competitive choirs performing their concert choir set for the year. For this in-school event, each group performs during their class period. 

Show Choir Showcase (March)

Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, KC Jazz, and Varsity Singers

Date & Time: Thursday, March 4, 2027 – 7 PM

Admission: $15 adults, $10 Students

Duration: approx. 2 hours

What: Show Choir Showcase gathers the polished versions of the 2027 competition sets from all of North Central’s competitive choirs. Counterpoints, Descants, Accents, and Varsity Singers each present their full show choir sets backed by the Show Band while KC Jazz performs the vocal jazz set they will take to the ISSMA contest.

Concert Choir Preview (April)

Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, and Varsity Singers

Date & Time: Thursday, April 8, 2027 – 7 PM

Admission: Free

Duration: approx. 1 hour

What: The Concert Choir Preview showcases the concert choir sets each competitive show choir group will take to their ISSMA contests. 

KC Jazz Cabaret (May)

Who: KC Jazz

Date & Time: Wednesday, May 5, 2027 – 7 PM

Admission: $40 (tentative)

Location: The Cabaret – downtown Indianaplis

Duration: approx. 1.5 hours

What: The KC Jazz Cabaret is the only NC Choirs event that happens outside of Birge Auditorium. Come see North Central’s vocal jazz group perform in a venue that regularly hosts Tony-winning Broadway stars and the stars of tomorrow from Ball State University’s Theatre & Dance program. Your ticket includes a buffet dinner and soft drinks.

Spring Choir Concert (May)

Who: Accents, Encores/Allegros, Rondos, Northernaires and Varsity Singers 

Date & Time: Saturday, May 15, 2027 – 2 PM

Admission: $5 Adult, $3 Student

Duration: approx. 1.5 hours

What: Spring Concert is the final concert of the year for our non-competitive choirs and intermediate show choirs! The event features show choir sets, concert choir sets, and spotlight performances prepared in the spring semester. We also celebrate the seniors graduating from these groups!

Evening with Counterpoints, Descants, and KC Jazz (May)

Who: Counterpoints, Descants, and KC Jazz

Date & Time: Saturday, May 15, 2027 – 7 PM

Admission: $15 Adult, $10 Student

Duration: approx. 2.5 hours

What: Evening with The Counterpoints, Descants, and KC Jazz caps off the school year with a performance featuring show choir, concert choir, vocal jazz, and spotlight numbers from our advanced choirs. Come see off the class of 2027 seniors as they perform their senior song.
