Description of Concerts
Fall Concert (September)
Who: All Choirs
Thursday Performance: All Choirs (Ambassadors during the school day)
Admission: $5 Adult, $3 Student
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
What: This concert will feature each choir singing 2-3 pieces learned in the first few months of school. This is a great taste of what will be in store for the rest of the year.
More Joyful Sounds of the Season (December)
Who: All Choirs
Friday & Saturday Performances
Admission: $15 Adult, $10 Student
Duration: approx 1.5 hours
What: This concert will feature special acts, ensembles, and combined numbers to celebrate the holiday season. This concert has two performances: Saturday, and Sunday of December. Note that Ambassadors perform on the Friday night show and Encores & Allegros will be featured on the Saturday show.
Messiah Concert (December)
Who: Counterpoints, Descants, King’s Court, and Varsity Singers
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday Performances
Admission: Free- No Ticket Required!
Duration: approx 45 minutes
What: This concert will feature both our choirs and the NC symphony orchestra. We will perform excerpts from a variety of choral-orchestral masterworks from many of the great classical composers.
Show Choir Preview Show (January)
Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, and Varsity Singers
Admission: Free- No Ticket Required!
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
What: This concert previews the competition shows for Counterpoints and Descants. You won’t want to miss this concert to see how far the students will grow in a season. This concert will also include short breaks between each group. We will have a quick Show Choir 101 Parent Meeting after the show!
Mid-Winter Concert (February)
Who: Ambassadors, Allegros, Encores, and Rondos
Admission: Free- No Ticket Required!
Duration: approx. 45 minutes during their class time
What: Come see these groups perform their concert choir set for the year. After the performance they will receive feedback from a panel of clinicians.
Show Choir Showcase (March)
Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, King’s Court, North Side Sound, and Varsity Singers
Admission: $15 adults, $10 Students
Duration: approx. 2 hours
What: This concert will be the final home performance for the competitive shows. It will also include the KC Jazz vocal jazz set!
Concert Choir Preview (April)
Who: Accents, Counterpoints, Descants, King’s Court, and Varsity Singers
Admission: Free- No Ticket Required!
Duration: approx. 1 hour
What: At this concert we will preview each group’s concert choir set. Each choir will then take these sets to ISSMA contest.
Spring Choir Concert (May)
Who: Accents, Encores/Allegros, Rondos, Northernaires and Varsity Singers
Admission: $5 Adult, $3 Student
Duration: approx. 1.5 hours
What: This is the final concert of the year for our beginning and intermediate choirs! Come and hear all of the great music we have prepared in the spring semester and celebrate our seniors!
Evening with Counterpoints, Descants, and KC Jazz (May)
Who: Counterpoints, Descants, and King’s Court
Admission: $15 Adult, $10 Student
Duration: approx. 2.5 hours
What: This is the final concert of the year. Come watch all of our concert, vocal jazz, and show choir sets one last time! The concert will also feature specialty performances and a senior song.
