Kings Court

2019 3rd Runner- Up ISSMA Concert Choir State

The King’s Court Singers are proud to have been named ISSMA Indiana State Mixed Concert Choir Finalists for the past three years. Only 16 concert choirs are selected in a very competitive field. In 2015 King’s Court ranked fifth runner-up.

For complete information regarding the King’s Court Singers, contact information and their Madrigal Dinners please go to their website.

Singing in this advanced level mixed Madrigal/Concert choir provides students with learning opportunities that enable them to:

    1. Develop skills of proper tone production, diction, technique and intonation
    2. Develop skills in music reading
    3. Demonstrate stage movement, blocking, or choreography appropriate to the music studied
    4. Display well-developed solo and ensemble skills in singing selections from a variety of historical and cultural genres.

The choir rehearses and performs during most of the first semester songs, skits, and dances in the style of the Renaissance. Their culminating first semester performance is for the King’s Court Madrigal Dinners. During second semester the choirs rehearse and perform in ISSMA District and State Competitions. Their second semester culminating experience is the King’s Court Side by Side Concert performing with Middle School and Elementary Students a variety of music including pop, musical theater and vocal jazz.
