Meet the Directors

Jared Z. McElroy

Jared holds a Bachelors degree from IU’s Jacobs School of Music in Choral Music Education. During his time at IU, he performed and toured with the internationally recognized collegiate show choir the Singing Hoosiers under both Dr. Michael Schwartzkopf and Dr. Steve Zegree. In 2019, Jared completed his Masters of Music in Choral Conducting from Butler University studying under Dr. Eric Stark and Dr. John Perkins.

Jared student taught at North Central under Mike Raunick in the fall of 2015. After graduating, he taught for two years at Westlane Middle School. After completing his graduate degree at Butler, he once again joined the North Central Choir family in the fall of 2019.

 

Jared has served as the Assistant Artistic Director of the Indianapolis Men’s Chorus since 2014. The IMC is a community chorus of approximately 75 singers that seeks to promote inclusivity around Indianapolis through song. Jared has performed as a featured soloist in multiple ‪Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra‬ productions, and was a chorus member for the world premiers of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows in Concert, and as Stewpot in their production of South Pacific. He has served as chorus master for the Indianapolis tour stops of both Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban.

 

Jared has been married to his high school show choir sweetheart, Jenna, since 2015.

Elizabeth Morrison

Mrs. Elizabeth Morrison is so excited to be joining the choral team at North Central High School. She is a graduate of Michigan State University where she earned her degrees in both Music Education and Vocal Performance. While a student at Michigan State, she performed various opera/musical theater roles in the MSU Opera Theater productions and local professional theaters, as well as interned as a student director with the MSU Children’s Choir. After college, she moved back to Indianapolis and began teaching at Center Grove Middle School North. While at CGMSN, she co-directed 7 choral ensembles as well as directed the Drama Club. For the last four years, she has been the head director at Whiteland Community High School. During that time, she had the pleasure of leading their varsity mixed show/concert choir, Rhythm Masters, assisting with their vocal jazz ensemble, Shades of Blue, and also a variety of their beginning and intermediate ensembles. Outside of school, you can find her hiking, cooking, or catching up on shows. She resides in Washington Township with her husband Scott, their son JJ, and their dog, Dixie!

Daria Weingartner

Daria earned her bachelor’s degree from Ball State University in K-12 Vocal and General Music. While at Ball State, she performed with the Ball State Concert Choir, Ball State Chamber Choir and the Indiana Choral Connection where she toured to New Orleans and New York. Daria also served on the Panhellenic Council for Greek Life on campus as the VP Risk Reduction and Education as well as serving on the executive board for Alpha Chi Omega. After college, Daria began teaching in Warren Township at Raymond Park Middle School and Warren Central High School. In her six years in Warren Township, Daria directed the middle school ensembles as well as the beginning choir at the high school and Hi Lites, the Advanced Competitive Unisex show choir. Following Warren Township, Daria taught at Shortridge High School in Indianapolis Public Schools. In her six years in IPS, Daria directed the four choirs and taught IB Music Year 1 and Year 2. Daria has vocal directed 7 musicals and directed 6 others.

 

Daria will graduate in December, 2024 with her Masters in Business Administration. Daria and her 5 year old, Eddie live in the Indianapolis area with her partner and her two children.
